Oldfield Law Tennessee’s Knoxville family law attorneys bring together extensive legal experience, local knowledge, and a commitment to helping families navigate challenging legal matters. Rochelle A. Oldfield
CEO/Managing Partner
Certified Child Welfare Law Specialist
Rochelle A. Oldfield is the founder, CEO, and Managing Partner of Oldfield Law Tennessee, where she represents clients in complex Tennessee family law and child welfare matters. As a Certified Child Welfare Law Specialist, her practice includes child custody, dependency and neglect, adoption, termination of parental rights, and other matters affecting children and families.
Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Rochelle graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Denver before earning her Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. She began her career as an Assistant Solicitor in South Carolina, specializing in cases of child abuse and domestic violence, later passing the Washington State Bar and continuing her work as a prosecuting attorney.
After making Knoxville her permanent home in 2011, Rochelle served five years with the Department of Children’s Services (DCS), where she became and remains a Certified Child Welfare Law Specialist. Her firsthand understanding of DCS operations, combined with her prosecutorial background and certification in child welfare law, informs her representation of families navigating child custody disputes, dependency and neglect proceedings, adoption, termination of parental rights, and other complex child welfare matters.
In 2019, Rochelle founded Oldfield Law Tennessee with a mission to provide families with skilled, compassionate representation during life’s most challenging moments. Beyond the courtroom, she has competed as a triathlete, fitness competitor, and powerlifter and is the proud mother of two sons active in youth hockey. Rochelle is an active member of the Knoxville community, which she proudly calls home.
Jason Beddingfield
Senior Attorney
Jason Beddingfield brings more than 20 years of legal experience to Oldfield Law Tennessee, representing clients throughout Knoxville and East Tennessee in family law matters. His experience includes child custody, dependency and neglect, juvenile court proceedings, and other complex legal disputes involving children and families.
Before joining Oldfield Law Tennessee, Jason served as a Magistrate Judge for the Blount County Juvenile Court, where he presided over dependency and neglect matters, child support cases, and other juvenile court proceedings. That experience provides him with firsthand knowledge of Tennessee’s juvenile court system and the legal issues families may encounter within it.
Jason earned his Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and is licensed to practice in Tennessee and in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. He brings his litigation, communication, and case-management experience to each matter while providing clients with clear guidance and individualized representation.
Megan Hutchens
Associate Attorney
Megan Hutchens is an Associate Attorney at Oldfield Law Tennessee, where she represents clients in family law matters throughout Knoxville and East Tennessee. She brings a thoughtful, client-centered approach to helping individuals and families navigate challenging legal issues.
Megan earned her Juris Doctor from Lincoln Memorial University’s Duncan School of Law after completing her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Tennessee. Her background in psychology complements her legal training and provides additional perspective when working with families facing emotionally complex circumstances.
At Oldfield Law Tennessee, Megan approaches each matter with careful preparation, clear communication, and attention to the individual needs of her clients. She is committed to helping clients understand the legal process and make informed decisions as their cases move forward.
Outside the office, Megan enjoys collecting antiques, spending time with loved ones, and pursuing interests that reflect her curiosity and enthusiasm for lifelong learning.
Michael Rushing
Senior Paralegal
Michael Rushing is a Senior Family Law Paralegal at Oldfield Law Tennessee, bringing more than a decade of legal and leadership experience to the firm’s Knoxville family law team. He supports the firm’s attorneys and clients through detailed legal research, case preparation, document drafting, discovery, and other critical aspects of family law matters.
Before joining Oldfield Law Tennessee, Michael built an extensive paralegal career with the United States Army and the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate. He served in increasingly senior positions, including Senior Paralegal Supervisor, Criminal Law Paralegal Supervisor, Brigade Paralegal, and Trial Defense Paralegal.
During his military legal career, Michael supervised, trained, and mentored paralegals across multiple installations while supporting attorneys in complex administrative, criminal, and military justice matters. His experience includes leading teams of up to 30 paralegals, conducting legal and factual research, drafting and reviewing legal actions, managing courts-martial and administrative separations, and preparing investigative legal briefs.
Michael also completed advanced training through The Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School, including the Advanced Law for Paralegal Course and Senior Leader Course. He brings the precision, organization, leadership, and attention to detail developed throughout his military career to his work supporting families and the legal team at Oldfield Law Tennessee.
Elaine M. Walker, MBA
Law Firm Administrator
Elaine M. Walker, MBA, serves as Law Firm Administrator for Oldfield Law Tennessee, overseeing the business and administrative operations that support the firm’s attorneys, paralegals, staff, and clients. Her responsibilities span firm operations, human resources, billing and financial administration, intake quality assurance, vendor management, and business strategy.
Elaine brings experience in business operations, organizational management, and process improvement to her role. She earned her MBA from Capella University and has completed additional professional training in legal management, ethics, communication, and financial administration.
As the firm’s sole administrator, Elaine develops and manages systems designed to strengthen day-to-day operations, improve internal processes, support the firm’s team, and help ensure clients receive consistent and responsive service throughout their experience with Oldfield Law Tennessee.
Elaine is an active member of the Association of Legal Administrators and the Knoxville Association of Legal Administrators and contributes to the firm’s continued growth and involvement in the Knoxville legal and business community. She has also been recognized as an Honored Listee by Marquis Who’s Who for professional achievement.
